The Old Sweet Shop

(Sheffield)

About The Old Sweet Shop.

The Old Sweet Shop was opened on Saturday 2nd December 2006. Our aim is to showcase local independent artists from a range of genres and provide an alternative to mass produced high street shopping. Our continually rotating stock will feature photography, ceramics, mouth-blown glassware, paintings, prints, stained glass, handmade bags, books, graffiti art, sculpture and jewellery amongst other things.

As much of the artwork are one off pieces it is recommended that you visit the shop and the website regularly to appreciate and take advantage of the unique and sometimes limited edition pieces. We offer a broad spectrum to suit all budgets so don’t be afraid to come and have a look. We currently have gifts starting from a couple of quid and you can also pick up a locally handmade card to go with it. Of course if you are looking for a really special piece of artwork then we can also accommodate. For extra exclusivity you can even speak to us about a commission from an artist that catches your eye in the shop.

Look at the artists profile page to get an idea of the work we currently have on show.

If you don’t often visit Nether Edge for shopping then you should start. The area around Nether Edge Road and the crossroads with Sheldon Road is a haven for a more relaxing way of shopping and harks back to the good old days before chain shops and soulless supermarkets took over. There are many independently owned shops and cafes here that have an ethos of being unique and who want to provide a good quality service in a friendly atmosphere. So if you are looking for something just that little bit different you know where to go.
